Manage All Of Your Online Profiles Easily With DandyID
Odds are you’ve heard of this new little thing called Web 2.0 and the explosion that has followed. With that explosion came hundreds of online places for you to join and create a profile.
After a while, you get to the point that all of your information is spread out across tens or maybe hundreds of different sites where you exist. It can be a chore to keep all those profiles organized.
My favorite site that was created to clean up and organize your online profiles is DandyID. What sets DandyID apart from the other sites like PeopleBrowsr, SocialURL, Zooity and ProfileFly is the vast collection of sites available and the ways that it allows you to use your information through extensions.
Upon visiting DandyID, you can get started collecting all of your online identities and putting them all together in one spot. The user is presented with a long list sorted alphabetically of every service DandyID supports. I consider myself a pretty web-savvy guy but I didn’t know what half of these sites were. There are at least a hundred different ones and if the site you are looking for isn’t listed, at the bottom you can suggest a new service and it will be included within a few days. You can rest assured that every web profile you have will be covered.
Let’s jump in and take a look, shall we?

After you have all of your profiles entered, DandyID gives you the nice option of verifying all of your identities. This makes sure that there isn’t going to be anyone out there linking to someone else’s profile claiming it is their own. A nice touch that most identity management sites don’t think of.

Most other profile management websites, including this one simply give you a unique web address to send your friends to where they will find all of your online profiles. Where DandyID excels is in its extensions, most notably with Wordpress and Facebook integration. With a simple plugin, users are able to display their online profiles on their Wordpress blog or right in their Facebook profile.

The Wordpress plugin allows you to display your profiles in a widget three ways, either with the popular favicon cluster (shown above), text only links or a combination of the two.
The DandyID Facebook app was just released last week and has brought even more value to the site. With their app, you can show a scrollable list of your online identities directly in your Facebook profile. One extra advantage to using DandyID is that you don’t have to worry about updating your profiles displayed in your widgets or other extensions. Any changes made at DandyID.org are automatically pushed out to your extensions.
In the midst of this Web 2.0 explosion that is only going to keep expanding, it is nice to have a site like DandyID to rely on to keep all of your online profiles in one place.
