TrainingPeaks.com – For today’s choice I’m going to focus on TrainingPeaks.com which I’ve had some experience with in the past but I noticed they made a large number of changes. Immediately I noticed that this is one powerful website and is on the edge of offering too much information. I can’t think of the last time I was on a bike ride and was concerned with the critical power distribution of my pedaling.
I was impressed with what they offered in the ways of tracking your training for both runners and cyclists. It certainly caters to that crowd and does so very well. It will allow you to import data from your GPS tracking or many other training devices and makes nice, neat little charts from them. Their nutrition tracking software was very involved and certainly offered you a wealth of information but was a bit difficult to get started with. There wasn’t an easy way I found to have a simple journal of your daily thoughts and goals. There also wasn’t any attention paid to those who do primarily weight training or other forms of cardio. The combination of being very overwhelming with the wealth of data available and the primary focus on upper level running and cycling athletes made me back away from this site quickly as being a potential choice but may work for those of you who are serious about your workouts.
